The hikes

In Norway we have a unique act of freedom called the right to roam. It means that anyone has the right to wander anywhere they want. Everyone is trusted to leave nature as they found it and not make any marks. This means no littering or removing anything that isn’t yours. It is based on

We provide the firewood, camping stoves, reindeer hide and everything else

The hammocks

Chill out in our breathtaking backyard! We recommend you experiencing this for yourself and discover your own spot in the depth of the fairytale forest or explore the views further up the mountain, laze around in the midnight sun and fill your lungs with fresh Arctic air! Sharing is caring

Part of the charm of the Nordic Boutique Barn is the experience of sharing communal spaces as well as the opportunity to exchange stories with travellers from all over the world.

Lillian’s eclectic selection of vintage Norwegian memorabilia permeates every nook and cranny of the barn. The communal lounge and dining area are spacious, warm and comfortable with sofas, chairs and tables to relax by the fireplace.

The barn features hot water, electric heating as well as a wood burner (firewood included), a flat-screen TV with over 50 channels to choose from and a fast complimentary Internet connection.

There is a fully equipped, modern community kitchen with a big refrigerator, a dishwasher, an oven and a coffee machine.

There are two bathrooms to share; one of them has a shower, a toilet and a washing machine, whilst the other has a toilet and a sink.

There is also an outdoor terrace with a breathtaking view of the mountains and a barbeque area with a view of the Vestfjord facing the Lofoten Island.

For kids and the young at heart, there is a Gingerbread House, a cool Pirate Ship and a swing to play with and an amazing fairytale forest to explore.

Embrace the Nordic way of life and enjoy our badstu (sauna) or a private spa with a sauna and a jacuzzi for an addition fee. There is also the exotic Morocco Room that you can hire for special occasions in combination with the badstu. Experience a real Moroccan atmosphere in Arctic Norway!

You can also rent our Treehouse in the nearby forest for a night or two, perfect for adventure seekers and nature lovers.

We recommend renting a hammock from us and finding your own spot in the forest or up on the mountain to soak up the Norwegian sun and breathe the fresh Arctic air.

Interaction with guests

The hostess (Lillian) will be happy to help you with any requests. You may call her or send her and e-mail any time.

If you feel like it, you are welcome to visit her at her home and exchange stories over a cup of coffee. She knows every saga and legend in this part of the world.

If you need some grocery shopping or if you want to sample traditional local dishes, feel free to place an order with Lillian.

Other things to note

We have chickens on the property, so there is a chance you might wake up to our lively roosters’ crow. There is also a friendly cat named Carlos and a sweet little dog called Pittelita but they will hang out at the main house and are not allowed in the barn.

House rules:
– Please do not smoke in the barn.
– Pets are not allowed in the barn.
– Extra guests are welcome at an additional fee.

Have a good time in låve!
